Just moved to Madison in September and I'm enjoying it a lot. However, I'm a big fan of traveling so now I'm pondering the next big trip. Possibly Europe? Only time will tell. I like traveling because it's a good way to see new things and meet new people (this is where hostels come in handy). Gives me a chance to talk to individuals that I wouldn't normally encounter. I'm not the most eloquent speaker, but a good conversation is one of my favorite things.

I'm strongly addicted to one thing in life: music. Thrift stores are trouble because I have to dig through the entire collection of used CD's in pursuit of hidden gems. Some of my favorite albums are ones that I picked up without even knowing the artist. Big fan of electronic (drum n bass, breakbeats, chillout, ambient, etc.), alt rock, classic rock, and urban/rap. I enjoy late night concerts and DJ shows. Dancing is great but I must admit that I'm not very good at it.

TV is something I try to avoid. I'll watch movies every so often and when I find one I really enjoy then I'll view it over and over again. Some of my favorites are Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels, Vanilla Sky, and Monty Python And The Holy Grail. Watching 12 Monkeys while writing this, classic!

I read a lot, especially articles dealing with esoteric socio-political issues. In terms of political leanings all I can really say is I'm not a fan of the 2 party lockdown. My main interest is in the ideas of "deep politics" as presented by UC-Berkeley writer Peter Dale Scott.

Athletics is another big thing for me. Did 4 years of sports in high school and 3 years in college, mostly cross country/track. Long distance events were my specialty. I still run these days, road races and the like. First marathon was in October. Never realized 26 miles could be that hard, yet still slightly enjoyable. Will most likely do more. Oh, and just picked up a season pass for Devil's Head ski hill. For the first time in my life I'm actually hoping for a lot of snow!
